Colombian Pop Band Morat Releases “Someone I Used to Know”
Colombian roots-pop phenomenon **Morat** has released the bilingual “Someone I Used To Know,” “a wistful, confessional collaboration with hit Brit songsmith **James TW** (‘When You Love Someone’), and announced 2024 U.S. tour dates.”
The contents of “Someone I Used to Know” and its accompanying video will touch your heart in a way that displays a great collaboration of artists. This is the first song in which they sing English; the band says that they have always had the dream of singing a song in English, “but at the same time, they were plagued by doubts because they are proud to speak Spanish and they wanted it to feel natural when the time came … Then came a day when James TW crossed paths with Morat by chance and luckily he ended up going to one of the band’s shows in Madrid, and the next day the song was written.” Morat says, “It was not only a beautiful musical moment, but it was also a moment of friendship. That’s why the video is more than the story of the song, it’s the story around a song … In the end, there is more to our first song in English than just the song: a friend.”
James TW adds, "I love that the song is the perfect combination of our music together. The two influences blend so well from melody & lyric to the production! It was a dream to collaborate with the guys and I can’t wait for everyone to hear the song. I really enjoyed the day we recorded the video in London showing the city to the guys while we were taping the video."
“With a strong focus on fastidiously rehearsed live shows, Morat is famed for passionate and emotive performances and announced a U.S. tour in early 2024.” Tickets for the Si Ayer Fuera Hoy U.S. Tour are on sale now. Morat will perform at MGM National Harbor Theater for Washington D.C. area audiences on January 28, 2024.
