Wild Whispers Combine Influences to Create “In Truth”

Maryland-based modern folk-pop duo Wild Whispers (musicians Eli Lev and Megan Leigh), “has crafted a collection of songs that encapsulate their unique journey in creativity and showcase their combined musical force” with their newest project, the album “In Truth”, released in December 2023.

Lev and Leigh linked in 2017, bonding over their mutual passion for music. Lev draws from a wide range of genres such as Native American flute music and electronic beats to create his award-winning folk music. Rising solo artist Leigh’s years singing in choirs have allowed her to find her voice as a lead vocalist. Their voices blend beautifully and the songs on In Truth have the capacity to sift through memories and ground you through hardship. It’s a refreshing folk album in which the duo poetically tells stories divided in three parts, exploring themes of nature, Greek mythology, and self-reflection. Their sound weaves experimental elements with familiar ones like acoustic fingerstyle guitar that captivates you from first listen.

“To Me That’s Love” is In Truth’s standout single: “When we began writing this song, we decided it wasn’t going to be a love song, but sometimes songs have a mind of their own and they show you exactly what they want to be,” write Lev and Leigh. “In its pure form, this song embodied love, and the song wanted to share that love with the world – so we went with it! We thought of all the things that made us complete: feeling full, feeling whole, feeling enough, feeling secure in ourselves, and feeling like we were being seen for exactly who we were. That became the chorus – and it also became a super catchy hook.”
